Baby Isaiah's Case Part of a National Trend Say Advocates for the Disabled

Ottawa Cuts Funding for Canadian Federation for Sexual Health
An investigation by the Interim, Canada's pro-life newspaper, has found that over the past half decade, the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health has had its federal government grants cut by more than 99 per cent. The federation, formerly the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada and still the Canadian member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, has charitable status, according to the Canada Revenue Agency. The CFSH says on its website that it "promote(s) sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and abroad." It also admits being a "pro-choice organization." Its member affiliates, which operate in all 10 provinces, provide sex information, contraception and abortion referrals; according to REAL Women of Canada, it is the leading abortion referral service in Canada. Family travels to Swiss clinic to help mother 'die with dignity'

Canada considers assisted death a crime and this forced Kay's departure to put into action her beliefs and fulfill her last request. One of the few options available was to travel to Switzerland where this process is considered normal. Religious, children's, civil rights groups apply to intervene in BC polygamy case

Several groups, including a children's rights group, are hoping the B.C. Supreme Court will consider their opinions in an unusual legal test case aimed at clarifying whether or not polygamy is a crime. The Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children and the Canadian Polyamory Advocacy Association, which supports multiple marriage, are among 16 groups and individuals wanting to provide their input to the B.C. Supreme Court when it weighs the legality of the federal polygamy law. Read full story.

Church Loses Charity Status: Opposition to Abortion, Homosexuality Cited as Reasons

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has revoked the charitable status of Kings Glory Fellowship (KGF), a Christian church in Calgary.  CRA cites a number of issues with KGF's application, but the decision is based, in part, on the ground that certain KGF Board members have spoken out strongly against abortion, and other moral issues.  Read full story.  (NEW YORK – C-FAM)  In its new report "Stand and Deliver," the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is demanding that governments, religious institutions and society at large provide "comprehensive sexuality education" for children as young as ten years old.

In a foreword, Bert Koenders of the Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, which helped fund the publication, asserts that, "Young people have the right to be fully informed about sexuality and to have access to contraceptives and other services. These rights are enshrined in various internationally agreed human rights convention and treaties, but – unfortunately – they are still not universally respected."
